Sangria artists were invited to downtown LA last Memorial Day weekend to visit the studio of Lillian Abel. Lillian and husband Leonard provided a lovely dinner, a super-delicious Eggplant Parmesan (an old family recipe) and wine. The dinning room led to the charming studio. The shimmering green colors of the paintings illuminated the room. Oil paintings was everywhere. After the evening was through we bought some beautiful paintings.
Lillian shared with us the story of Humble Beauty which is a documentary about an arts program she founded. Humble Beauty is an award-winning production, and it is traveling the film festival circuit. If you catch this lovely Thespian couple at an art opening, be sure to ask them about performing on Broadway, dancing at Studio 54, and Alan Alda’s Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie at the Geffen Playhouse.
Thank you Lillian and Leonard for a memorable evening!
